Lead Power Engineer

Mr. Giannasca is a qualified electrical engineer and Fellow of the Institute of Energy with over 40 years of experience in renewable power project development and delivery including gas to power systems.

Mr Giannasca’s technical expertise includes renewable engineering, power generation and process control. He has led large and complex wind and solar projects and renewable integration into remote power systems; he has developed leading integration systems for high-penetration renewables in Australia and internationally. This work includes design of entire green generation, storage and dispatch systems for on-grid and off-grid communities. He is an experienced expert in gas to power systems.

Australasian work includes power system design for Kawasaki Heavy Industries Hydrogen Liquification and Loading Project Hastings; FEED design of electrical, control system for integrated green H2 and ammonia plant at Australia’s largest smelter H2P2 Port Pirie; Sundrop Farms solar thermal integrated renewable projects; system design for Hydrostor Compressed Air Storage program Broken Hill; behind-meter renewable power system design for one of Australia’s largest freight intermodal sites (Moorebank Sydney); end to end planning, design, build and operation of 106MW Taralga wind farm; design of megawatt-scale integrated renewable system (wind/solar/storage to power HyNQ green hydrogen and ammonia export program export Abbot Point; design and installation of wind power microgrid system and integration with legacy power system for entire island community Chatham Islands.
