Mission and Projects
Our mission is lowest cost, 100 per cent secure green power for the community –this means communities on the grid, as well as isolated, remote and regional communities in wind and solar-rich areas, including mining sites.
We achieve this with a green hydrogen system which separates hydrogen from water using wind or solar electricity and stores the green electrons as hydrogen gas until required.
Our safe, robust, community friendly, and non-novel technology system unlocks hydrogen’s long-duration storage benefits: it can act as a low-cost commercial ‘stockpiler’ of wind and solar power, opening maximum revenues in green electricity as well as opening green hydrogen and oxygen sales for the chemicals, construction and mobility markets – filling a major need in the Australian gas industry’s path to sustainability.
Such benefits are not achievable with battery storage systems. This system in turn can make green power storage substantially cheaper than current battery systems.
GIP is moving to final design on its first two megawatt-scale commercial green power and gas projects, providing commercial green power, green hydrogen gas and sustainably produced industrial oxygen at sites in two regional Australian communities.
