Mr. Frank Favretto

Mr. Favretto is a respected senior finance figure with four decades of entrepreneurial experience investing in and managing early-stage companies, focussed on corporate structuring, governance, strategy, capital raising and IPO.  

He was Director and Executive Vice-President of what was until 1999 Australia’s leading Investment Bank, Bankers Trust Australia (acquired by Deutsche Bank, subsequently divested to Westpac, Macquarie Banks and others). 

Mr. Favretto has dedicated the past 15 years to investing, developing and commercialising successful high-impact, scalable sustainability projects in green energy, water efficiency and decarbonisation. Roles include Founder and Chairman of Green Island Power Pty Ltd, a green power integrator which owns a patent pending safe, practical and commercial long-duration energy storage and dispatch system for substantially improving wind and solar power efficiency; Founder, Managing Director H2OX – a world-first online water bourse – an initiative of Water for Rivers, originally owned by Victoria, New South Wales and Australian Governments, acquired in 2020 by its US-based technology group partner www.xpansiv.com at a valuation many times investment cost; and Founder and Chairman of OmeEco Trust – a program commercialising large-scale cookstove carbon credits which is now decarbonising local communities in the Philippines.

Mr. Favretto is highly experienced in carbon credit market development, monetisation of credits and their application to green energy sectors including green hydrogen; he is an architect of smart corporate and finance structures designed to ensure that green economy benefits flow to all stakeholders – especially to local communities.
